44 Degrees and we’re still mid April

It was April 16 and I was driving home at 2:00 PM when my car dashboard showed the unexpected. 44 degrees (111.2 Fahrenheit) and we’re still “supposedly” during spring. I wonder how it will look like in July or August. Why can’t I just be on vacation all summer long
